Preparing for Pregnancy
Pilates is increasingly used in the US as an aid to fertility because studies have shown it balances the body, increasing efficiency and reducing the stress hormone, cortisol. High levels of cortisol have been linked to irregular monthly cycles and a weakened immune system, both of which can hinder your ability to get pregnant.
Pilates also works key core muscles including the pelvic floor and strengthens postural muscles ready for the changes that may lie ahead so it is a great form of exercise for those hoping to become a mum.
If you do fall pregnant, the great news is that unlike many other forms of exercise, Pilates is safe to continue throughout your pregnancy.
During Your Pregnancy
If you’re expecting and are looking for a safe form of exercise that can help you prepare for the birth of your little one, then look no further.
At Pepilates, we offer a range of classes to suit your individual needs and budget. All 3 types of class are available to you and each is tailored to make sure you stay as fit as a fiddle and keep up with the changes taking place in your body.
If you haven’t practiced Pilates before, we recommend waiting until after your 12 week scan before getting started.
Why not take up our private taster class offer and make the most of the opportunity to discuss your options with one of our highly trained teachers. Request a taster class
Private classes are booked by appointment whilst the group classes can be booked online.
Getting back to exercise after the birth

You may be feeling very tired and weak or raring to get back to exercise. Whatever your situation, you’ll be pleased to hear that we’ve worked with loads of new mums and can help you to quickly get back to your best.
Because each birth is very different, it’s hard to give general advice on when to get back to exercise, so to discuss your options, give us a call or fill out this short form and we’ll get back to you.
